  The GCC Ministers of Health hold a Meeting via "visual communication" to follow up the Developments on the Coronavirus COVID-19

At the invitation of HE the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the GCC Ministers of Health held a meeting via "visual communication on Saturday, 14 March 2020, with the participation of the Gulf Health Council, to discuss the developments of the Coronavirus COVID-19, as well as in the GCC States and discuss the procedures followed to limit the spread of the virus.
During this meeting, they discussed the current situation in each country, including the procedures followed at the GCC ports and the statistics related to the COVID-19 virus, health sector readiness, media and educational plans, and contingency plans, where the ministers agreed on the following:
1. The GCC Ministers of Health valued the tremendous efforts made by health sector employees in the GCC States and their tangible contributions to curbing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and praised the GCC  citizens official and private bodies cooperation in these circumstances.
2. The GCC Ministers of Health urged the citizens and residents of the GCC States to apply infection control standards, avoid going to gathering places as much as possible, and maintain preventive safety measures followed in such cases.
3. The GCC Ministers of Health affirmed the importance of receiving information from official sources and not being drawn into rumors and unofficial social media accounts.
4. Establishing a joint operations room and holding a weekly meeting at the level of deputy ministers of health in the GCC states with the aim of exchanging information and joint coordination in this regard.
5. The Gulf Health Council, in coordination with the GCC Ministries of Health, issue a daily report on confirmed cases, their source, and the precautionary measures that are taken.
