  The Secretary General wishes the UAE a Successful Organization of "Expo 2020 Dubai" .. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum receives the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council

HH Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, received on Wednesday, 12 February 2020, at the Marmum Palace, HH Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, on the occasion of starting his duties as the GCC Secretary-General.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wished the Secretary-General ALL success hoped that his efforts would be crowned in achieving the aspirations of cooperation and coordination among the GCC States, and to proceed to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the GCC people in enhancing prosperity and stability.

For his part, HE the Secretary General, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf affirmed that the trust placed by their Majesties and Highnesses, leaders of the GCC States, is the basis for work and achievement within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council system to achieve their visions serving the people, as well as prosperity in all areas. These are matters that can be achieved through the interrogation among Member States, and by building on the gains of the blessed journey of the Council and opening wider horizons for achieving more that translate the lofty goals for which the Gulf Cooperation Council was established.

HE the Secretary General also wished the United Arab Emirates all success in the Emirate of Dubai hosting the world's largest international exhibition "Expo 2020 Dubai", congratulating HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the international confidence that the Emirate of Dubai enjoyed to host this global event, and emphasizing the high ability of the United Arab Emirates to host such huge events that attract the world's attention. He stressed that this global event, which is held for the first time in a GCC state, is considered a pride and a benefit for all the GCC citizens due to its international reputation and prestige, and the economic, investment and other benefits that it will bring to the region, noting that the Gulf Cooperation Council participated for the first time in this event represented by the GCC pavilion.

HE the Secretary General also praised the United Arab Emirates hosting the joint tactical training exercises “Arab Gulf Security 2”, indicating its importance in the framework of strengthening the GCC security cooperation and the continuous security development necessary to face common challenges, wishing all success and to the GCC police and security services participating in the exercise, which is held to as implementation of  the decisions of their Highnesses and Excellencies, the Interior Ministers of the GCC states.

The meeting was attended by, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, CEO and chairman of the Emirates Group, HE Mohammad Abdulla Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, HE Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, HE Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Shaibani, Director General of the Dubai Ruler's Court and HE Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.
