  GCC-Yemeni Meeting to discuss Enhancing Cooperation and Coordination

The GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek, met on Monday, 27 January 2020, at the GCC headquarters in Riyadh, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Shaiea Al-Zindani and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest political developments in the Republic of Yemen, and the progress of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.  They reviewed the security and military situation in Yemen, and the efforts the GCC States made to end the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the three references; the Gulf Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), and the Security Council resolution 2216.
The Assistant Secretary General also reviewed the GCC States and their regional funds efforts and active role in implementing development projects in Yemen.
For his part, the ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia valued the GCC States efforts to support the brotherly Republic of Yemen in all political, development and humanitarian fields, especially in light of the continued coup of the Houthi militias against Yemeni legitimacy.
