  The GCC Secretariat meets with GCC and Indonesian representatives from the private sector

GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political & Negotiations Affairs Dr. Abdel Aziz Hamad Aluwaisheg met with representatives from the business community from the GCC and Indonesia on Friday 30 August 2019, in the capital Jakarta.
The GCC Assistant Secretary General explained how the GCC-Indonesia Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed on 28 August 2019, and the proposed joint action plans can enhance cooperation in all economic areas of common interest. The investors expressed their views on ways to develop the trading relationship between the GCC and Indonesia and suggested ways to encourage more GCC investments in Indonesia. The possibility of holding a trade and investment conference was also discussed, to address current and future business opportunities.
The GCC Assistant Secretary General also met with a delegation from the Indonesian business community to get their views on how to increase trade and investment flows between the GCC countries and Indonesia. They presented promising investment opportunities in the oil refining and petrochemicals sector, as demand for these products has been rapidly increasing in Indonesia.
