Page Content The 1st meeting of the 22nd session of the GCC Advisory Board of the Supreme Council was held on Wednesday, 20 March 2019, in Muscat; with the participation of HE Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, HE Ahmed bin Yusuf Al-Harthy, Chairman of the Advisory Board current session, and a number of its members. In his speech, HE Ahmed bin Yusuf Al-Harthy welcomed HE Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah and HE Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, stressing that this meeting comes as the GCC States unanimity recognition of the Advisory Board accomplishments and its studies supporting the developmental process in all member states. He pointed out that the GCC leaders wanted this Board to be another platform to further extend the base of consultations among the Member States, as stated in the Introduction to the Advisory Board.HE Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the members of the Advisory Board at its 22nd session, which expresses the support extended by the leaders of the GCC States. He expressed his thanks and appreciation for all the members' efforts, in which we see a lot of views on various issues, enhancing the GCC joint work, noting that the Advisory Board previous sessions has provided many studies that served the GCC people.In his speech, HE the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council expressed his pride in the Sultanate of Oman taking over the presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council, asking God Almighty to crown this presidency with all the success to further strengthen the GCC integration. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the city of Muscat for hosting the 1st meeting of the 22nd session of the GCC Advisory Board of the Supreme Council.Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his thanks and appreciation for the sincere efforts of the GCC Advisory Board since its establishment to enhance the process of the GCC joint work, through creative visions, constructive ideas and purposeful views represented in its members' valuable studies on various issues of the GCC societies and its blessed journey. The Secretary-General stressed that the Advisory Board has played an active role in supporting the GCC joint work through valuable studies totaling of 44 studies that included 997 recommendations in all fields; Which were commissioned by their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC states, who directed the GCC General Secretariat in coordination with the relevant ministerial committees to benefit from these views to enhance the GCC integration, pointing out that the GCC General Secretariat to facilitate the coordination and the follow-up has digitally documented all the studies provided. He affirmed that the GCC General Secretariat believes in the role of the Advisory Board in developing the GCC joint work and its keenness to work with the Advisory Board to achieve this goal, as well as strengthening the follow-up process in order to implement the Board's views approved by the Supreme Council.
