  The GCC-US Discuss means to strengthen the Strategic Partnership in Countering Terrorism

The Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek, met on Monday, 4 November 2019, at the GCC headquarters in Riyadh, Mr. Joseph Francescon, the US National Security Council Director for Counterterrorism, Mr. Joseph Rosenstein, the US State Department Counterterrorism Policy Advisor and their accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they reviewed the strategic partnership between the GCC and the United States; in particular, the existing cooperation in the field of combating extremism and terrorism within the framework of the regional and international efforts and the proposed counterterrorism strategy of the Middle East Strategic Alliance.
They also discussed the outcomes of the 2nd workshop for the Network of countering Violent Extremism Centers, organized by the GCC Secretariat on 30-31 September 2019, with the participation of a number of centers and entities concerned with countering violent extremism in the GCC States, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
