  The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council attends the Opening Session of the Conference of Arab Businessmen & Investors in Bahrain

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him and the participation of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani attended the opening session of the 18th Conference of Arab Businessmen & Investors in Bahrain on Monday, 11 November 2019, in Manama, under the slogan (Investing in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Digital Economy), organized by the Union of Arab Chambers, in collaboration with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, and The Arab Investment & Export Credit Guarantee Corporation; With the participation of a number of senior officials of bodies concerned with investment, and entrepreneurs and Arab companies involved in various sectors of digital investment.
In his statement, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani expressed his pride in organizing the conference of Arab businessmen and investors in the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him. He said that the holding of this important conference in the Kingdom of Bahrain reflects the wise leadership's keenness to support and reinforce all efforts to assert the prestigious economic status of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a prominent economic, financial and investment center in this vital region.
The Secretary General added that the conference affirms the keenness of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its endeavor to affirm the vital and constructive role played by the private sector in supporting the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom. It will be a vital platform for the exchange of ideas among Arab decision makers, business owners and investors; Reviewing investment experiences and ways to face challenges and obstacles, and identifying investment opportunities in the Arab world.
The Secretary General commended the Kingdom of Bahrain for its important economic successes at the regional and international levels; saying that the Kingdom of Bahrain has occupied advanced positions in the indicators of human development, global competitiveness, business and attracting investments. It established a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and a comprehensive infrastructure for industrial and commercial revival.
Dr. Al Zayani valued the sincere efforts of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance the economic status of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Supporting the contributions of the Bahraini private sector to development and economic growth. He pointed out that the GCC States, under the directives of their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders, May God protect them, pay great attention to the role of the Gulf private sector, counting on its efforts to achieve greater cooperation and integration among the GCC States and focusing on ways to enhance the cooperation between the public and private sectors.
