  HE GCCSG Welcomes the Slovenian Government and Parliament Decision to Recognise the Palestine State, Affirming it Confirms International Recognition of Palestinian People's Right & will Contribute to Attainment of their Legal and Legitimate Rights

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the important step represented by the decision of the government and parliament of Slovenia to recognise the state of Palestine, stressing that this step confirms the international community's recognition of the Palestinian people's right, on the one hand, and will contribute to their attainment of all their legal and legitimate rights, on the other.

He also praised the decision of the government and parliament of Slovenia to recognise the State of Palestine, explaining that this decision highlights their commitment and standing with international laws and covenants, and their support for ending the conflict in the Middle East, in order to achieve a comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, as well as in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the resolutions of international legitimacy.

His Excellency also called on all countries to take similar steps to ensure a safe and sustainable life for the Palestinian people.
