  His Excellency the President of the Republic of Suriname Receives His Excellency the Secretary General of the GCC

His Excellency Mr Chan Santokhi, President of the Republic of Suriname, received His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), on Thursday (May 9, 2024), in the city of Paramaribo, the capital of the Republic of Suriname.

During the reception, several topics were discussed, the most important of which was enhancing ways to consolidate cooperation and exchange experiences and knowledge in various economic, commercial, cultural, and scientific fields between the GCC countries and the Republic of Suriname (the current presidency of the Association of Caribbean States). The meeting also witnessed a discussion and review of views and visions regarding a number of regional and global issues on the international scene.

HE the Secretary General stressed that this meeting is a step that embodies and reflects the keenness and directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries, in opening new horizons for cooperation and supporting the bonds of diplomatic relations between the Cooperation Council and countries and organisations around the world, expressing thanks and appreciation to HE the President for the warm reception, and the common desire to strengthen relations in a way that serves the interests of their peoples.
