Page ContentHis Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Mr. Zhao Chenxin, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission in the People's Republic of China, on Monday, May 13, 2024, via video communication technology.During the meeting, they discussed and reviewed the ongoing preparations for the First China-GCC Forum for Industry and Investment, scheduled to be held next week in the People's Republic of China, with the participation of their Excellencies the Ministers of Finance, Commerce, and Economy from the GCC countries and China.Both sides expressed their aspirations for the forum to achieve its desired goals and outcomes and contribute to enhancing the GCC-China economic relations, including mutual investments between the two sides.Furthermore, His Excellency the Secretary General of the GCC mentioned that this forum is part of the GCC's vision to establish broader economic relations with countries worldwide, serving their interests and contributing to the development and enhancement of their economies. Additionally, His Excellency emphasised that holding this forum stems from the GCC countries' keenness to strengthen their strong strategic relations with the People's Republic of China in all fields.
