  HE the GCCSG Meets the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Receiving Invitation by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Visit Hungary

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held discussions with His Excellency Mr. Balázs Selmeci, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on ways to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the GCC and the Republic of Hungary, in a manner that serves the common interests.

This took place during a meeting between His Excellency the GCC Secretary General and the Hungarian Ambassador to the Kingdom on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General underlined that Hungary's presidency of the European Union in the coming month of July confirms its important and vital role among the European Union countries, wishing it success during its presidency.

Furthermore, His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the gracious invitation conveyed to him by the Hungarian Ambassador on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Hungary, to visit the Hungarian capital, Budapest, in order to discuss the GCC-Hungarian relations on one hand, and the GCC-European relations on the other hand, in light of Hungary's presidency of the European Union during the second half of this year.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, including a review of the relations between the GCC and the Republic of Hungary, as well as the latest developments regionally and internationally, in addition to exchanging views on subjects of mutual interest.
