Page ContentHis Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr Achim Steiner, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, "UNDP" on Friday, September 27, 2024, on the sidelines of his participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.During the meeting, several topics were discussed, notably the distinguished role played by GCC countries in supporting the work of the UN Development Programme. His Excellency the GCC Secretary General noted that the Programme Administrator praised this role and described it as essential and pivotal for implementing the Programme's plans on the ground.His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi added that the meeting also addressed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the GCC and the UN Development Programme, exploring potential partnerships, joint efforts, and developmental initiatives between the two sides. Additionally, they reviewed the UNDP's efforts in several Arab countries, particularly in Gaza and Sudan.
