Page ContentHis Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr Cho Tae-yul, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, on Friday, September 27, 2024, on the sidelines of his participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.During the meeting, the importance of enhancing strategic dialogue between the Cooperation Council and the Republic of Korea was emphasised, particularly through the areas of cooperation outlined in the joint action plan between the two sides. Both parties stressed the necessity of solidifying fruitful collaboration.They also discussed the latest developments regarding the Free Trade Agreement "FTA" between the GCC and the Republic of Korea, signed in December 2023, and the efforts to enhance joint cooperation between the Council and the Republic of Korea, with increased focus on sectors of mutual interest such as education, health, investment, and pharmaceuticals.Moreover, the two sides addressed key regional issues and matters of mutual interest, exchanging views on the developments in the region.
