  HE the GCCSG:The invitation Extended to the GCC General Secretariat to Participate in the Munich Security Conference Reflects the GCC's Significant Regional & International Standing & its Members' Important Role in Achieving International Security & Peace

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the invitation extended to the General Secretariat of the GCC to participate in the Munich Security Conference reflects the significant regional and international standing of the GCC and the important role played by its member states in addressing various issues to achieve international security and peace.

He made these remarks during his participation in the 60th Munich Security Conference, which is being held from February 16th to 18th, 2024, in Munich, Germany. 

The conference is attended by a number of world leaders, heads of state, defense and foreign ministers, senior government officials, experts, and business leaders from around the world.

His Excellency stated that the 60th Munich Security Conference aims to build a new phase based on common understanding and enhanced collective efforts to de-escalate and address all security challenges. 

It also aims to develop a comprehensive positive vision for the future international order, built upon peace, security, and stability, to create a brighter future for the world, he underlined. 

It's worth noting that His Excellency the Secretary General of the GCC is participating in several key sessions at the conference and will hold a series of strategic meetings with foreign ministers from various countries. 

Additionally, he will engage in constructive dialogues and meetings with officials and leaders from international and regional institutions throughout the conference period.
