  HE the GCCSG: The Development of Work and Cooperation with Countries and Organisations in the Field of Cybersecurity is a Priority for the GCC Member States

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), emphasised that the development of work and cooperation with countries and organisations in the field of cybersecurity is a priority for the GCC member states.

This statement was made during a meeting between His Excellency and Her Excellency Ms. Anne Neuberger, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology on the National Security Council in the United States of America,  on Friday, February 16, 2024, in Munich, Germany. The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the 60th Munich Security Conference.

During the meeting, they discussed and exchanged views on cybersecurity and ways to support and enhance collaboration between the GCC member states and the United States in this field.

They also reviewed the progress made in the meetings of the joint GCC-American working groups specialised in cybersecurity, which were endorsed in the joint ministerial meeting between the foreign ministers of the GCC member states and the United States in September 2023.
