During the meeting, HE the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council stressed the importance of consolidating Gulf-Lebanese relations, in a way that contributes to serving common interests. Relations between the Cooperation Council and Lebanon and the means to support and enhance them in various fields were also reviewed during the meeting, in confirmation of what was mentioned in the statement of the GCC Supreme Council’s 43rd session held in December 2022, with respect to the Cooperation Council’s standing with the brotherly Lebanese people and its continuous support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and stability.

The officials also followed up on the latest developments and topics of common interest on the regional and international arenas.

The meeting was attended by HE Dr Abdulaziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary General for Political and Negotiation Affairs at the General Secretariat of the GCC.
