His Excellency Dr Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Turkmenistan to serve common interests.
HE the Secretary General’s statements came during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HE Mr. Raşit Meredow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkmenistan, stipulating strengthening areas of cooperation between the two parties in various fields, especially the areas of economy, trade exchange, energy, and water and food security, in order to achieve stability and support sustainable development efforts.
A session of official talks was held between HE Dr Al Hajraf and HE Mr. Meredow on Monday (August 1, 2022), during which a number of international and regional issues, and areas of joint cooperation, were reviewed, as well as opportunities to enhance cooperation to benefit common interests.
HE the Secretary General also held individual meetings with HE Mr. Meredow, HE Mr. Shahym Abdrahmanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Turkmenistan, and HE Mr. Mamithan Chakyev, Minister of State and Director of the Agency for Transport and External Communications of the Republic of Turkmenistan.
