Page ContentThe Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani launched on Thursday, 23 January 2020 in Dubai, the GCC Pavilion at the Expo 2020 – Dubai. In the presence of HE Mr. Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, the Deputy Director of the Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau and a number of senior officials of the GCC General Secretariat and the institution supervising the exhibition.The launching program included a preview of the engineering design of the GCC Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, where the CEO of the company designing provided the Secretary-General an explanation of the pavilion’s details, divisions, and symbolic design implications.The Secretary-General also visited Expo 2020 Dubai site and reviewed the construction arrangements and equipment being implemented at an increasing pace and continuous work to complete the implementation of all construction and facilities at Expo 2020 Dubai. His Excellency also visited the site of the GCC Pavilion, where he directed the speedy start of constructing the Pavilion.The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council made a statement in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to HE Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation in the United Arab Emirates, and the Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau and all officials at the Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau on the support they provided for the Gulf Cooperation Council in Expo 2020 Dubai. His Excellency also praised the positive support and attention shown by the Ministerial Council that the General Secretariat have an effective participation in the Expo 2020 that is in line with the GCC experience in achieving integration among member states, and the General Secretariat highlights its role and achievements in all fields. He added that the United Arab Emirates accomplished a historic achievement when it won the hosting of the World Expo 2020, which is the first in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia under the slogan "Connecting Minds and Creating the Future", stressing the GCC endeavor through its participation to be a partner in the success that Dubai will achieve in organizing this global event.The Secretary-General also stressed that the GCC pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai seeks to shed light on what has been achieved by the Gulf Cooperation Council during its path that exceeded three decades in various fields of joint work.
