  GCC Secretariat concludes its activities at World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi

The GCC secretariat Pavilion concluded its participation activities in the 24th World Energy Congress, held from 9-12 September 2019 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. With participation of a number of sectors from the General Secretariat, and the bodies and organizations in the GCC through introductory platforms presented their efforts, projects and strategic plans that are implemented in the field of energy and the maintenance of its security and sustainability in the GCC countries.

On the third day, the GCC wing witnessed a visits from His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Abbas Ali Al Naqi, Secretary General of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), and a number of senior officials in the sectors of energy and industry from different countries of the world participating in the conference.

The pavilion has gained media momentum from various local and international media channels and institutions concerned in the field of energy, which highlighted the objectives of the GCC participation in the conference, and the blessed economic cooperation process of the GCC countries. Especially in this important area, where energy in the Gulf States is the fundamental and essential entry point for various industries, and the key element in economic and development.

Through its participation, the General Secretariat highlighted the media plans and strategies implemented by the GCC countries through the cooperative system in order to conserve and sustain energy supplies, rationalize energy consumption and improve energy efficiency to ensure sustainable growth of the global economy.
