  The GCC holds the "Restructuring the GCC Cultural Strategy" Symposium in Kuwait

The "Restructuring the GCC Cultural Strategy" Symposium organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in the State of Kuwait and the GCC General Secretariat was held under the patronage of HE Mr. Bader Al-Dawish, Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector on Wednesday, 17 April 2019, in Kuwait.

In his speech, DR. Adel Khalifa al-Zayani, Head of the Human and Environmental Affairs Sector stressed the importance of this strategy that was adopted in 2008 for 10 years by their Majesties and highnesses leaders of the GCC, and which then the measurement indexes were prepared to evaluate the results of the past period.

The Head of the Human and Environmental Affairs Sector also referred to the GCC Cultural Ministerial Committee decision to restructure this strategy and hold this symposium, with hope that the new strategy will be in line with future visions, taking into consideration the technological developments of the new media, the changes, the challenges and the priorities, as well as intensifying cultural activities and programs that have a positive impact in this regard.

It is worth mentioning that the symposium discussed 21 different research papers in the field of culture, heritage and the Gulf Identity, and came up with proposals and recommendations to be included in the GCC cultural strategy, where a series of meetings will be held to restructure the strategy, and then present it before the GCC Cultural Ministerial Committee.
