  The GCC and the People's Republic of China Discuss Means to Enhance Political, Economic and Cultural Communications

The Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek, met on Thursday, 7 February 2019, at the GCC headquarters, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Li Huaxin.
The Assistant Secretary-General stressed that the GCC-China cooperation is a priority; pointing out that the trade exchange between both sides has doubled more than seven times during the last period, from $ 16 billion in 2001 to more than $ 120 billion at present.
The Assistant Secretary-General noted that the GCC-China Joint Plan aims to enhance regular Political, economic and cultural communications, regarding the issues of common interest in all fields.
The Chinese ambassador expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between the GCC and China, and the GCC prioritizing the free trade negotiations between the two sides, looking forward to further enhance the GCC-China cooperation in coming years. He also stressed China's keenness to strengthen the joint cooperation between both sides, serving their common interests.
