  The GCC participates in the Meeting of Arab Information Ministers Council's Executive Bureau

Represented by the General Directorate of Information and Strategic Communication, the GCC participated in the 10th Meeting of Arab Information Ministers Council's Executive Bureau, held on Wednesday, 9 January 2018, in Riyadh.
The GCC Director-General of Media and Strategic Communications, Mr. Faisal Al-Shaikh said that the meeting addressed 13 recommendations, the most important of which was means of supporting the Palestinian cause through media, and the need to coordinate the efforts covering the events in Palestinian territories.
Mr. Al-Shaikh also stated that the meeting chaired by Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, Saudi Minister of Media, concluded with several recommendations, most importantly; the Arab Media Charter of Honor, and the need to involve press unions and professional institutions in reviewing its items. As well as, discussing the recommendations resulted of the Arab Forum held in Riyadh to discuss the Arab media campaign strategy to achieve the goals of sustainable development 2030.
They also discussed 2 proposals submitted by, the Arab Commission for joint broadcasting to enrich the Digital content, and establishing a broadcasting platform within an Arab data center, and assign a technical committee of Member States to further study these projects.
Finally, the Bureau adopted the theme "The role of the Arab media in promoting tolerance" proposed by the United Arab Emirates to be the focus of the 50th session of the Arab Ministers of Information Council.
