Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), backed the statement issued by an official in Saudi Arabia underlining the Kingdom's total rejection of any threats or attempts to undermine it, whether by threatening to impose economic sanctions, using political pressures or repeating false accusations., “This campaign of false claims against Saudi Arabia will utterly fail,” he said.

Dr. Al Zayani added that these accusations and threats would not affect Saudi Arabia’s regional, Islamic and global standing in terms of economic stability and preserving regional security.

Referring to Saudi Arabia’s official statement, he stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has the right to defend its sovereignty, independence vital interests. The Kingdom will remain as it was throughout history, noble and intractable to anyone who tries to threaten or undermine it, he said.
