  The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council participates in the Ceremony Honoring a Number of the GCC Intellectuals and Innovators

Under the patronage HH Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture of the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC Ministers of Culture, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani participated in the ceremony honoring a number of the GCC intellectuals and innovators, held on Thursday, 10 October 2019, at Al Bustan Hotel in Muscat, on the occasion of the meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Culture.
The Minister of Heritage and Culture of the Sultanate of Oman, the GCC Ministers of Culture and the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council handed the honorees the certificates and commemorative plaques on this occasion.
In his statement, the Secretary-General expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to HH Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture of the Sultanate of Oman for the success achieved at the meeting of Ministers of Culture and the joint meeting of the GCC Ministers of Culture and Tourism. He praised the organizing of the ceremony honoring a number of the GCC innovators in the fields of culture, thought and creativity, who had an effective and distinct role in enriching the Gulf cultural scene their intellectual and creative creations.
He said that this is a clear proof of the care and attention given by their Highness the Ministers to the Gulf the cultural scene and their keenness to provide a stimulating environment for creativity and cultural excellence in the GCC States of historical cultural heritage, stressing that honoring the GCC intellectuals promotes a blessed approach built on gratitude and appreciation, and aims to support, encourage and consolidate the values of loyalty and fulfillment.
The Secretary-General congratulated the honorees, praising their generous efforts and their sincere work revitalizing the GCC cultural scene with their intellectual and diverse cultural and artistic creations. He expressed the hope that this deserved tribute will be an impetus towards more cultural giving in the GCC States and presence on the international scene.
